KNOW INDIA PROGRAM

Yi, in association with the The Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs, Confederation of Indian Industry and Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan organizes the Know India Program (KIP) with the aim of creating awareness about the phenomenal transformation taking place in India and the country's progress from just a destination for culture, heritage and art to an emerging powerhouse in the global economy. The programme is designed to give the participants an insight into local lifestyles, culture, economic development etc. It is an experiential learning and pleasure event where the stated objectives will be achieved by the participants engaging directly with the stake holders of modern India. It includes interactive visits to universities, modern industrial establishments, places of tourist interest, calls on high level dignitaries, basic familiarization with Indian history, economy, heritage etc. The 7th edition was held at Goa between 29 August - 15 September 2007 which had 29 participants representing from 10 countries. The 8th edition was held in the State of Tamil Nadu between 26 December 2007 - 18 January 2008 which had 34 participants from 14 countries.
